The U.S. Air Force moved Mia's father, Bill Vestal, to Washington with their family - initially to Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake. In 1959 they transferred to Joint Base Lewis McChord and Bill settled his family the Lakewood where Mia has been ever since.
